CWS- SPERRY 77 Como usar(CAT 2):

CWS- SPERRY 77 How to Use(CAT 2):

The Autopilot and Flight Director work separate from each other. The Flight Director works as a reference ONLY. The two large paddles on the autopilot engage the independent roll and pitch channels. When you turn the paddles on, your controls must be centered. When your joystick is moved away from center, you'll hear clicking sounds which are the autopilot lockout solenoids. Once the autopilot is on, you are initially in manual mode. You are still flying the plane! This mode is known as control wheel steering (CWS) mode which is basically autotrim. If you fly to let's say 30 degrees left roll and five degrees nose up then let go of the controls, the airplane will hold that attitude indefinitely.
The actual panel does not have auto throttle with Speed Hold, so you will have to use the EPRcharts in the "PERFORMANCE" manual, which includes EPR "Points" for takeoff, cruise and landing.
Is comes with an A/T but only for power hold and TO/GA.
You can now turn off the autobrake using only the knob.
Autobrakes work at a certain strength, so if you see the Brakes indicator flashing don't worry, it's normal.

To use the Altitude Hold, level the airplane to the desired altitude and engage Aileron and Elevator CWS by moving the CWS switch up (if not engaged), then move the switch that's next to the CWS to the ALT HOLD position. The airplane will mantain the altitude where the ALT HOLD position was activated.

A couple things to be aware of:

-The engines cannot be started with these starters unless the APU is running. You can still use CTRL+E.
-Clicking on the "H" button next to the flap indicator will cancel the in-flight flap configuration warning.
-The landing light switch will also extend the tailhook. This is for the FFX landing light animation.
